Gilpin Grateful Acres
A Sanctuary For Retired Companion Animals
At Grateful Acres, it doesn’t matter where we came from, we are just Grateful we’re here. Our family consists of critters that have come from all different backgrounds and while some have darker pasts than others, we don’t dwell on it….we move forward. From llamas, goats and chickens to rabbits, lizards and snakes, we share our home and lives with these friends that have found us in their time of need. We understand circumstances go beyond our control and sometimes we need to provide a different situation for the animals in our lives. This is the one of the toughest decisions an animal lover may have to make. Our goal is to provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment for farm and companion animals that may be displaced from their homes.
What We Do
Making A Difference
Advocacy
Reinforcing our Commitment
Grateful Acres’ mission is always first in our minds as we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. Advocacy is something that we take very seriously. We not only work each and every day to make a positive impact, but we are always open to ideas and suggestions from our community. Contact us to learn more about our commitment to this cause.

Support
One Step at a Time
At Grateful Acres, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in showing exactly what your support, monetary or otherwise, can do for our cause. Gaining support is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are constantly striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and if you choose, lend your support.
Education
Helping Our Community
As much as we love caring for the animals that we have given sanctuary, our bigger goal is to promote and provide in depth information and opportunities for success to those in need. With access to the proper resources, including our first hand knowledge, animal enthusiasts in our community and everywhere can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to care for their companions and themselves in order to live more fully and functionally together. Learn more about our work by getting in touch with us today. If you are a part of our local community you have the opportunity to talk with us in person at our place of business. We are more than happy to talk animal nutrition and husbandry all day long! Stop in to Nederland Feed and Pet, LTD or call anytime.

“We are beginning to learn that each animal has a life and a place and a role in this world. If we place compassion and care in the middle of all our dealings with the animal world and honor and respect their lives, our attitudes will change.”
